Happy Birthday Sophia!

PART_1359235344818text

Hello everybody!  I hope you guys are well.

Today is a very special day for me.  It’s my daughter’s birthday.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Can I even call you that anymore?

Because today you’re 3 years old.

Your brilliance astounds us, you’re stubborn as a mule, your sweet, adorable face charms the wits out of people instantly, you’re fierce (just ask your big sister who you try to “lovingly” knock down), and you’re definitely a comedian in training, hence the picture above.

You keep me on my toes and make my nerves go haywire, but then you stretch your arms out wide and declare that you want a big hug, which is always followed up with a big, sloppy kiss on my cheek.  You coyly say “I love you Mami,” and melt my heart away.  I then want to devour you, figuratively speaking, of course (us mothers can’t help this feeling, it’s just there) and I tell you so, prompting you to say with a very serious face, “No Mami, you can’t eat me.”  Ok, maybe not today, so I tickle you instead.

You’re filling my mind with sweet memories and I hope I’ll never forget them.  Two days ago, we watched a squirrel munching away on something and you giggled with delight.  You have a love for animals and aren’t afraid to venture close enough.  Not even big dogs deter you.  You’re amazing.  On our way back from the supermarket, we spotted another squirrel.  He disappeared around the massive tree and you asked, “Where he go?” I told you to look up and there he was.  Suddenly, he turned and looked straight at us with his beady, little eyes.  I’ve never seen that before and I whispered to you, “he’s looking at us,” and you slowly backed away, making me laugh.  I couldn’t resist and said, “Run!”  We held hands and started running and laughing down the block.

You bring me joy, you drive me nuts, but most of all I’m so honored to be your mother.

I love you baby girl, ‘cause you’ll always be my baby, no matter how old you become.

The many faces of my little girl.

There’s the “don’t-take-my-picture!” look, mischievous (that’s grandma’s lipstick on her face, which she secretly applied and got caught red-faced, HA!), and pure happiness!

Happy Birthday Sophia!  We love you!

🙂

Take good care all.

Until next time…

A celebration for Dr. Seuss!

Hello everybody!  I hope you guys are well.

Did you know that it’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday tomorrow?  It’s also my mom’s!  She’s going to be 61 years young, but she’s reversing things and saying she’s going to be 16!  🙂  More on that celebration later on.  My daughter’s school is having a celebration today for Dr. Seuss and she was super excited.  Last night, I gave her some time on my computer so she could explore www.seussville.com while secretly I was making her a little pin with the hat from the Cat in the Hat for her school shirt.  I thought about this so last minute so I was hustling around the house trying to figure out how to make a pin.  This is what I came up with.

I found this image of the hat on AOL search, then printed it out.  I taped it onto card stock to make it sturdier and the tape gave it a laminated look.  I found the smallest safety-pin I could find in my house and taped it to the back of the hat and pinned it onto the collar of her shirt.  I surprised her in the morning by helping her into her shirt and saying, “go take a look in the mirror.”  She instantly saw it and loved it.

I also printed out several of the hats because I wanted to tape them onto her lunch containers and give her another surprise when she had lunch at school.

I taped the hat onto her water bottle, fork, sandwich container (not shown), and veggie, fruit, and snack containers!

I found this coloring page also on AOL search, but it’s offered by twistynoodle.com.  I printed out several pages for my daughter’s teacher to offer her students.  Did I mention that my daughter was super excited?  Super duper excited!

I’m hoping that my daughter is currently having a wonderful day at school celebrating a great author’s birthday.  Here’s to you Dr. Seuss and thanks for all the lessons!

HELLO EVERYBODY!

I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE WELL.

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!  I’M 36 YEARS OLD AND I’M OK WITH THAT!  🙂

WHEN MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE ON OUR WAY TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING, I TOLD HER THAT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND SHE LOOKED UP AT ME WITH BIG OL’ EYES AND A SMILE.  SHE PROCEEDED TO SING “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” TO ME AND THAT WAS WONDERFUL.  I’M GOING TO ENJOY MY DAY AND MY FAMILY TO THE FULLEST.

Happy Birthday to my luv!

Hello everybody!  I wanted to say a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful husband.  He’s also a blogger at workoutdrinkbemerry.wordpress.com.  He LOVES working out and training in Judo (brown belt) and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (blue belt), savoring different beers, wines, and liquors (and giving you his review on them), smoking a good cigar, and just being merry!  He’s my one and only and I hope all his wishes come true.  Until next time…

I gave him this six-pack beer carrier from etsy seller coldcreekbrewing…the beers weren’t included, I supplied those! 🙂  As soon as I saw this on etsy.com, I knew that he would love it.  Plus, it brings its own beer opener right on the handle!
