I’ve been spending a lot of time over at Pinterest browsing and creating boards for myself since I’m in a writer’s rut at the moment. I’ve mentioned before that we’re house hunting so browsing through pins on home decor is immensely inspiring. Putting together a visual board online allows me to see what I want for my future. I try my best not to pin things that are out of my league, financially speaking, but if it’s an idea that can be done another way that fits my budget then it gets pinned onto my board. So far I’m obsessed with the chevron pattern, which is weird, because I have nothing in my current dwelling with that pattern, but after seeing it as a design on a single wall complimenting a room or even on the floor as a design, I was hooked and can’t wait to try my hand at it. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn out to be a disaster or a “nailed it” picture (type in “nailed it” in Pinterest and you’ll see what I’m talking about.) Check out some of the pins that I’ve been currently obsessing over:
I had a wonderful Mother’s day with my whole family. I was gifted (by my husband) a, wait for it, SCOOTER! Yup, an adult size scooter. It’s pretty awesome. I tested it out for a little while before heading out to my mom’s house. I almost fell, but gained control and hopped back on it. I can’t wait to scoot some more with my girls and my hubby. It’s an unconventional gift, but it sure beats receiving a vacuum or blender. 🙂 I was also gifted a beautiful MOM necklace from http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/mama-necklace-P187C104.aspx. by my hubby and my girls. All and all, I had a great day.
Changing subjects so the title of this post makes sense, I came across this pin on Pinterest.
My daughter loves cucumbers and I have a small heart shape cookie cutter so of course after seeing this idea, I had to try it out!
As soon as I did it, I showed my daughter and she gasped at seeing the heart-shaped cucumbers. The next day after school, she told me that her friends loved them as well and were asking her who made them, at which she proudly said, “my mom!” Thank u to whoever came up with this idea. I know it’s not rocket science, but it’s cute and it made my little girl happy and it’s those little things that count the most for me.
Hello everybody! I hope you guys are well. I was so proud of my streak (about 3 years!) of not getting sick and that’s with two kids under 6 years old in my household, but alas it’s over. I’m currently battling a major sore throat.
I went on Pinterest, I know I’m completely hooked on this site, to see if there was some home remedies I could try and found this pin above. It’s funny and oh so freaking true. Many pins suggested eating spoonfuls of honey, drinking tea with lemon, drinking warm water, gargling with salted, warm water, and lots of sleep. The only one I like is the last one. Once I’m better I hope to start my streak once again and this time I’m aiming for four years and more. If you’re not feeling well today, GET WELL SOON.
Hello everybody! I hope you guys are well. Yesterday was “putting-all-the-Christmas-decorations-away” day! It made me kinda sad, but they’re be back soon enough! 🙂 Now it’s time to focus on the new year and prepare for all the birthdays that are coming. I like celebrating birthdays. When I’m not able to see the person, I love sending birthday cards and gifts in the mail because it makes people HAPPY! One should feel appreciated and remembered, especially on their special day.
My youngest, Sophia, turns 3 in April and I’m already planning it (I tend to leave things for the last minute and then go completely crazy), but I’m going to keep things very simple (don’t laugh, it can happen). I haven’t decided on a theme yet, but I know I want to decorate with balloons and I’ve seen a couple of ideas on Pinterest that I want to try. They also have a couple of games with balloons that would be fun:
Thread a needle and sew balloons in a row!
Decorate balloons with paper and glitter! So much fun!
Balloon Ping Pong: Sophia loves playing with balloons so this game would be a lot of fun for her.

Take good care all and HAPPY BIRTHDAY if it’s your birthday today!
Hi everybody! I hope you guys are well. When I saw this pin (www.pinterest.com), I immediately saved it and thought to myself, “I have to frame this for my home so everyone can see it.”
I’m always telling/teaching my daughters that they should appreciate all that they have. My parents provided me with a home, clothes, food, and unconditional love. I never had a problem understanding boundaries and consequences. I knew exactly what would happen if I did something wrong so I just didn’t do it. For me, it was just that simple. I also knew that if I needed something it would be provided by my parents, but I never took advantage of that or them. I even went to a reasonably priced (since my parents were paying the tuition), nearby college (Lehman College in Bronx, NY) so I could commute without having to pay for room and board. I didn’t want to give my parents a college debt, especially since I really didn’t want to go, but I knew it was in my best interest. I can only hope that my daughters grow up with the same mentality with the exception of genuinely wanting to go to school and surpassing their own expectations.
Loving and striving to do exactly what this pin (www.pinterest.com) says. Some days are hard, but ultimately I want no bitter memories. I do need a ton of patience (it’s a characteristic lacking in my family genes) and I wish to banish the hasty replies. Those darn hasty replies get on my nerves and they come out because I have no patience to stop and think before I speak. For my children’s sake and our future relationship, I will dutifully work on being a better mom.
EVEN BETTER, WHEN THE DAY IS YOUR ACTUAL BIRTHDAY.
I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE WELL.
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! I’M 36 YEARS OLD AND I’M OK WITH THAT! 🙂
WHEN MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE ON OUR WAY TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING, I TOLD HER THAT IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY AND SHE LOOKED UP AT ME WITH BIG OL’ EYES AND A SMILE. SHE PROCEEDED TO SING “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” TO ME AND THAT WAS WONDERFUL. I’M GOING TO ENJOY MY DAY AND MY FAMILY TO THE FULLEST.
PINS COURTESY OF PINTEREST, OF COURSE!
ENJOY YOUR DAY AND THANKS FOR FOLLOWING AND VIEWING!
Hello everybody! I hope you guys are well. I came across a couple of pins on Pinterest that completely resonate with the way I think and feel about motherhood and marriage. I wanted to share them with you and see how you feel.
I have two little girls, ages five and two, and we have a night time routine implemented since they were babies and we do our very best never to break it, even on vacation. They are so used to the routine that if we don’t keep up with it, they get very CRANKY! Bath time starts at 8 PM and by 8:30 – 8:45, the girls are in their beds and mommy is very happy! 🙂
I completely agree with this pin and have always thought this way. Hence why I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart. It takes two to build and keep a lasting relationship.
Back in August of this year, we celebrated 19 years together since the day he asked me to be his girlfriend. In 1993, Angel came over to my house and presented me with a rose and we declared that day to be our dating anniversary. My mother suggested I place the rose in a book so I can keep it forever. Always listen to your mom, because I have that rose, from 19 years ago, framed on my wall today. From the beginning of our relationship, we told each other what we expected from one another and we respected that. Respect and acknowledgement of each other’s importance in the relationship are key to a lasting union.
Hello everybody! I hope you guys are well. Things are a bit frustrating over here in NYC. The subway is trying to get back on track. My husband told me this morning that they have a subway recovery map on www.mta.info. It’s weird/amazing to see the subway map shown in a different way. This recovery map highlights the trains that are currently working, while showing the trains that aren’t (the subway lines are faded out). If you’re entering Manhattan via car, you can’t drive in solo. There has to be three people or more with you! And let me not forget to tell you that gas stations are running low on GAS! Oh boy, it’s tough out there, but New Yorkers are tougher. All the best and safe travels to all.
A pin from www.pinterest.com for my kids that speaks the truth! In my case, I have to think thrice.
Here’s a couple of pins for my husband. He’ll see them as comedic as well as many other men, but unfortunately for them, these are simply true! 🙂
Hi everybody! I hope you guys are well. I had a great surprise for my daughters yesterday. While my oldest was at school and my youngest was taking her nap, I had time to decorate the door in our living room for Halloween.
I know he’s supposed to be scary, but I think he’s adorable. I used blue and white party streamers for the hair, eyebrows and mouth, two disposable plates and a sharpie marker for the eyes, and tape to hold everything up. I might add some red to our monster so he can be a Giants fan just like us!
When my daughters saw this, my oldest couldn’t stop smiling and my youngest, who’s such a character already at just 2 years old, turned around and ran screaming. She was pretending to be scared! 🙂 She came back smiling and couldn’t stop looking at the door. This was a quick, easy and fun decoration to do.
This morning, as my youngest was staring at the door again, I told her “We should give him a name.”
